5. Help! My kid hates to read!

Today’s topic is about the importance of us as parents helping our kids become readers.

The statistics and studies are clear and plentiful…As adults, people who read:

  • make more money than people who don’t read

  • have a lower divorce rate than people who don’t read

  • have fewer problems with their children than people who don’t read

  • get promoted at a higher rate than people who don’t read

In today’s episode, I share 5 tips you can implement to help raise your children to be readers. Some of them start from the moment they can sit in your lap and some of them are important to remember when encouraging your tween or teen. I don’t think it is ever too late to encourage your kids to be readers.

For those of you with children/tweens/teens who HATE to read - I include an additional FIVE TIPS for reluctant readers!

Help! My Kid Hates to Read! Stephanie Kennedy

It takes WORK to parent our children and guide them into habits and the directions that will benefit them. It takes work to lead with encouragement but not force. It takes work to help them appreciate the life-long habits that will make them healthy, happier and more knowledgeable.

I would LOVE if you shared your favorite childhood/teen book that made you a reader! We can create a list to benefit all of our families!
